Foundation 51 Application Process Deadline for Spring grant applications is March 3, 2012
Foundation 51 is moving the application process from mailed or emailed forms to an online application that is submitted through Google Docs. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments about the process, please email Eric Johnson at ejhome@maine.rr.com, or call him at 829-6105 (home) or 831-5954 (cell). The Foundation 51 Grant Application Please feel free to review the application form as often as you wish. Nothing is submitted unless you click the "submit" button at the end of the application form. In moving the application to Google Docs, it is the intent
of Foundation 51 to: At present, it is not possible to "save" a partially filled-out application. Therefore, it is probably helpful to review the questions at the online application BEFORE you fill out, and submit, the online form. The online application uses text boxes and a pull-down selection box. While the text boxes allow lots of text, please consider how you might strengthen your story by using concise explanations that most directly address the particular line-of-questioning. Here's the 1,2,3-step process for applying for a grant...
Step 1: Review the online application form Step 2: Prepare answers. Step 3: Go back to the online form. Type, or "cut-and-paste", your answers into the appropriate text boxes. When satisfied that everything looks correct, hit "submit" at the bottom of the form. That's it!
The Grants Committee will review all requests and ask for more information if necessary. The Committee will then make its recommendations to the Foundation 51 Board of Directors, which has final authority to approve or deny all grant applications. Foundation 51 will notify all grant applicants of its decisions by email approximately 6 weeks after the application deadline. If you are a successful applicant, you may obtain your grant check from the Business Manager in the Central Office. After your project is underway, Foundation 51 reserves the right to request information from you regarding the success of the grant, and may also request a "site visit" to observe the results of the grant. In addition, Foundation 51 may decide to publicize some of the projects it has funded.
